EDSE 380 Monte Carlo Quizzes

Challenging problem or question – The project is framed by a meaningful problem to solve or a question to answer   Reflection – Students and teachers reflect on the project and analyze the effectiveness of their inquiry and project activities.   I would like to base the projects around the problem or question such as having students examine complicated events in American History such as having students compare Bacon’s rebellion to the Whiskey rebellion and then explain their findings and causes of these events. And I think this proj ect would be incomplete without reflection to which I would want students to look back on the project to understand not just why the subject matter is important but how the project affected them as students, such as doing group work or how they found the reasoning for their answers.   

I would differentiate a lesson on readiness by offering a variety of materials to provide a wider range of sources for students to use and give them a choice on what to read at their pace. Students who are further ahead will have more information to use in the future while students are behind can choose where to start. I believe providing a variety of materials that vary in forms of accessibility such as being online vs a physical will also allow  students to explore what interests them in my subject area. This will also allow me to see what types of sources my students prefer.
